Who Needs a Microwave?

We had a heat wave come through here a couple of days ago, with the temperature getting up to 112 degrees. For the most part, being without air conditioning has not been a big deal (ours went out about a year and a half ago and is too expensive to fix). We really didn't use it that much anyway. BUT...we have definitely had a few miserable days and nights since then. This past heat wave was probably the worst yet. Looking on the bright side though, I did not have to stick the butter in the microwave to soften it. I simply left it out on the counter for the afternoon and when we got home, this is what it looked like.

I'm not sure exactly how hot it was because the little red dial on our thermometer only goes up to 90. But, suffice it to say, IT WAS HOT. I'm happy to report though that we all survived!
