Pretty Pretty Princess

Poor Addi would probably miss out on many girly things if not for our neighbor, Sarah, who insists that she have them. It is mostly because of Sarah that Addi has princess dresses, princess sleeping bags, princess swimwear, princess nightgowns...you get the point. If it weren't for Sarah, in fact, I am fairly certain that Addi would still have no idea which princess was which. As I think I've mentioned before, we do have the world's best neighbors who truly love our kids. Not only do they love our kids though, they spoil them rotten! I would not be exaggerating in the least if I estimated that probably 90% of what our kids have, right down to every single piece of clothing on Jake's body, comes from them. They are amazingly generous and thoughtful (which makes me look especially bad since thoughtfulness is not a strong point of mine!). I think that they do actually believe though that our children are somewhat deprived because we often don't indulge them with a lot of the things that most kids around here are indulged with. And so, because they love our kids, I think they feel that it is their duty to help us make up for that. And make up for it, they do!

So that brings me to our pretty pretty princess. There is a game by that name that Sarah decided that Addi needed. I'm sure she couldn't believe that Addi didn't already have it because, afterall, every little girl needs Pretty Pretty Princess. So, she told me that she was going to get it for Addi for Christmas. But, of course, she just couldn't wait until then to give it to her. We were hanging out with them outside the other day when Sarah started talking to Addi about her Christmas present. After giving hints to Addi about what it might be, she said, "Oh, I can't wait until Christmas for you to have it. Do you want a present right now?" To which Addi responded, "No thank you. You do too much for me already. Thank you for the offer, but I much prefer to wait until Christmas and then I'll give it to someone in need as a birthday present to Jesus." HAHAHA!!! Of course, Addi jumped up and down and said, "Yes, please!"
So we have now spent the last few nights playing Pretty Pretty Princess with our pretty pretty princess. Even Jake gets into it, which is slightly worrisome! Here are a few action shots of Addi playing with Jay. (She's going for more of an Indian princess look here, since she prefers to wear minimal amounts of clothing!)
